In his current role, Ham serves as the oversight for women's basketball and the track & field programs, and also works in several areas such as fundraising and donor outreach.

Prior to his current role, Ham oversaw Georgia Southern Athletics' sports marketing efforts through a partnership with Learfield Sports as well as the Hall of Fame, Championships Committee, Student-Athlete Mentor Program and Student-Athlete Internship and Career Services.

He continues to serve as an ambassador of athletics to the University and community.

On the football field, Ham helped guide Georgia Southern to a pair of Division 1-AA national titles in 1985 and 1986. He was selected as an All-American in 1986 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007.
