
Women's Golf Set for Valspar Augusta Invitational

STATESBORO – Georgia Southern women's golf returns to the course this weekend, taking part in the Valspar Augusta Invitational, hosted by Augusta University, Mar. 14-15. The Eagles enter the weekend fresh off a 12th-place finish at the Gators Invitational last weekend.
The par 72 course is set to play 6,183 total yards; with both days featuring traditional tournament starts. On Saturday, the teams will play 36 holes, before concluding the tournament on Sunday with a full 18-hole finale.
The field will consist of host Augusta, No. 41 Indiana, Georgia Southern, No. 34 Missouri, Western Kentucky, No. 37 Kentucky, Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, Northern Illinois, Yale, No. 80 Xavier, Columbia, Daytona State College, No. 64 Minnesota, Illinois State, Furman, and North Florida.

- Georgia Southern returns to the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club after finishing as Co-Champions last season with UCF, as both teams produced six-over team finishes in a shortened two rounds.
- Last week, the Eagles collected a 12th-place finish at the Gators Invitational, shooting an opening round 290. Margaux Brejo produced a first round 69, tallying four birdies on Friday. Brejo went on to collect nine total birdies over the course of three days, including four in rounds one and three.
- Both Margaux Brejo and Haven Ward have produced 95.2% rounds counted rate, leading the Eagles this season. Both Brejo and Ward have had 20-of-21 rounds counted this season. The duo also leads the team with 45 and 41 birdies respectively, as Maddy Pytura trails just behind with 39 on the year.
