- Georgia Southern volleyball hits the road for the second time this season in conference play, traveling to Appalachian State for the biggest weekend of the season thus far. The Eagles hold the longest winning streak in the league, extending their streak to eight in a row and hold a 4-0 record in the East Division.
- The Eagles claimed two of the three Sun Belt Player of the Week honors, after sweeping ODU on back-to-back nights in Hanner Fieldhouse. Third year libero Maddie Cugino and fourth year setter Lexi Duffy, were tabbed as the Defensive and Setter of the Week. Cugino earns Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, while Duffy collected her first Sun Belt honor of her career, following a career best weekend against Old Dominion. The Columbus, Ohio, native, Cugino received back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week honors after elevating her level of play as the anchor of the Eagles' defense. She posted 6.50 digs per set, posting 39 on the weekend against the Monarchs. Ranked first in the Sun Belt in that category for the year and seventh nationally, Cugino added a 90% dig rate, 26.8% dig to point rate, and added 63%-point scoring from the service line. Duffy, a native of Murrieta, California, collected her first Sun Belt honor being named Setter of the Week for the Eagles. Duffy tallied 69 total assists (11.50 per set) and registered six kills over the course of two matches. She added 14 digs to her tally and registered two blocks in the Eagles sweep of ODU on Saturday. Duffy led the league in assists per set last weekend, adding a 36% assist rate, 2.33 digs per set, one kill per set, and hit .500.
- After dropping the first three matches of the season in Hawaii, Georgia Southern has been nearly untouchable on the court, posting a 12-1 record with three tournament championships. During that stretch, the Eagles have dropped six total sets in 13 matches, falling only on the road at Wake Forest in five sets. With the weekend sweep in Conway, Georgia Southern posted the highest winning percentage in program history (90.9) in the month of September, the highest under head coach Chad Willis. That stretch also features 10 sweeps during that stretch of matches and the Eagles have won 19 consecutive sets dating back to September 17 against Kennesaw State. During that period of matches, Georgia Southern has also won 13 consecutive sets inside Hanner Fieldhouse.
- Georgia Southern has been a force inside Hanner Fieldhouse, posting an 8-0 record and dropping just three total sets in those matches. The Eagles have swept both home non-conference tournaments and have turned Hanner Fieldhouse into one of the hardest venues in the league to play. In the program's history, the Eagles have posted a 311-204 record at home and a record of 71-29 under head coach Chad Willis.
