Angelina Mihajlovic Joins Women's Tennis For Fall 2025

Serbian transfer comes to the 'Boro after playing her freshman season at Grand Canyon

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern head women's tennis coach Sean McCaffrey has announced the addition of Grand Canyon University transfer Angelina Mihajlovic to the Eagles' program.

A native of Krusevac, Serbia, Mihajlovic competed for the 'Lopes in 2024-25 as a true freshman. She won a combined 15 singles and doubles matches during the dual match season and saw the majority of her time in the singles lineup at No. 5, where she collected wins over opponents from UC San Diego, Fresno State, Pacific, Gonzaga, UC Riverside, Seattle and Abilene Christian. Grand Canyon won a third consecutive WAC Tournament Championship in 2025.

While in her native Serbia, Mihajlovic played for her local Krusevac club team while achieving a career high world juniors singles ranking of #2627 in January of 2024.

"I was looking for a place where I can continue to grow as a player and as a person, and Georgia Southern felt like the right place for that," Mihajlovic said. "I'm excited to be part of the team and start this new chapter!"

"We are very excited to have Angelina join the Eagle tennis family this fall," Coach McCaffrey said. "Angelina has a strong game and work ethic , which will fit right in with our squad. She recently helped her former team win their conference championship, so winning is a big part of why she opted to join us here at Georgia Southern. We look forward to watching Angelina grow and thrive both on the court and in the classroom over the coming years!  Welcome to Eagle Nation, and GATA, Angelina!"

Georgia Southern returns seven student-athletes from last season's squad that achieved a program-best No. 65 ITA national team ranking in February with a youthful squad featuring no seniors and two juniors.
