PREVIEW: Eagles Set for First NCAA National Championships

Eagles set to make first appearance
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern women's golf is set to make program history by making its first appearance at the NCAA National Championships which begins with stroke play on Friday, May 16 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa - Champions Course in Carlsbad, Calif.
Georgia Southern tees off on Friday from hole 1 at 7:47 PT (10:47 ET) with UNLV and Oklahoma and then on Saturday off hole 10 at 1:07 PT (4:07 ET) with the same teams. Live scoring can be found here.
All 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. Following 54 holes of competition, the top 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on an advancing team will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match play competition and the 72-hole stroke play individual champion. The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into a bracket with the No. 1 seed playing the No. 8 seed, the No. 2 seed playing the No. 7 seed, the No. 3 seed playing the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 seed playing the No. 5 seed in match play. The quarterfinals and semifinals of match play will be played on Tuesday, with the match play finals played on Wednesday.
Golf Channel will again provide exclusive pre-round, post-round and live coverage of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships. Live coverage will take place at the following times:
Monday, May 19 – 3 to 7 p.m. Pacific time (6 to 10 p.m. Eastern time)
Tuesday, May 20 – 9:30 a.m. to Noon Pacific time (12:30 to 3 p.m. Eastern time)
Tuesday, May 20 – 3 to 7 p.m. Pacific time (6 to 10 p.m. Eastern time)
Wednesday, May 21 – 3 to 7 p.m. Pacific time (6 to 10 p.m. Eastern time)
The Eagles secured their spot in the championship after finishing tied for second place in just its second appearance in a NCAA Regional. The squad has six team championships and three individual championships on the season.
Georgia Southern will take the same five as the NCAA Lexington Regional to the National Championships. Louise Reau and Mary Miller have competed in all 13 events this season, Drive Tunwannarux makes her seventh start of the season, and LoraLie Cowart and Kelsey Chen enter the lineup for the 12th time this season.
