Lafayette, La. --- The Georgia Southern baseball team (23-20, 9-11 SBC) fell in both games that were completed on Saturday (April 26th), 4-1 and 7-3, to Louisiana (22-23, 12-8 SBC).

Friday night's start of the series saw Louisiana take a quick 1-0 lead after one from two stolen bases and a single from the Cajuns. Besides an RBI-triple in the fourth, Eagles' pitcher Brady Pendley was able to not only escape the inning, but had an extremely quality outing. The junior allowed six hits in the six innings he went, only allowing two runs, and striking out six Cajuns as well. However, his outing would be cut short.

In the top of the seventh inning, the game was delayed due to lightning, with the postponement call being made an outing later to resume the game the following day. When the two teams picked up where they left off, Georgia Southern quickly got to work. Just the third batter into the day, Daniel Haab turned on a ball that left the yard, cutting the deficit in half, 2-1.

Louisiana would stamp their foot in their eighth with a walk, then triple to start the frame that would eventually score two and give the Cajuns a win that took two days. Haab would have two of the Eagles' six hits in the first contest.

In game two, the very first inning for the Cajuns would ultimately prove to be too tough a hill to climb, as they would score four runs off five hits in the opening frame. After this, however, the Eagles would stand their ground. After Jack Myers walked and advanced to second, JP Herrholz would slap a single through the infield to score him and get the Eagles onto the board. On the mound, Jacob Phillips would have another solid outing in relief to try and keep his squad in striking distance.

In his five full innings pitched, Phillips would also give up six hits and just three runs on the day, while punching out five. After he would exit the contest, Will Robbins would have his best, although limited, appearance of the season. He would only give up a lone hit through two full innings of scoreless ball thrown while striking out half the batters he retired.

Georgia Southern would score two in the eighth off of hits from Nico Senese, Sean White, and Daniel Haab, but would strand the bases loaded in the ninth to give the Cajuns the victory. On the second contest, a trio of Eagles in Josh Tate, Senese, and White would have two-hit games, including double for the latter two.

Georgia Southern looks to steal one from the Cajuns tomorrow in the series finale that sees first pitch at 1 PM ET in Lafayette.
