Georgia Southern opens postseason play at the Sun Belt Conference Championships April 14-17 at the Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, Alabama in a field that features all 13 Sun Belt women's golf programs. All rounds will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
For the second time the championship will begin with three rounds of stroke play before the top-four teams following 54 holes of stroke play advance to match play, with the semifinals and championship to be contested on April 17.
Last season, the Eagles finished runner-up to Texas State falling in championship match play 4-1. The Eagles finished second in stroke play before topping ULM in the semifinals, 4-0-1.
Georgia Southern has finished fourth or better in seven of the eight Sun Belt Championships since the start of the program. The Eagles are seeking its second conference championship since taking the title in 2022.
Three teams in the field are ranked in the top-100 according to Scoreboard by Clippd. The Eagles picked up its highest ranking in program history sitting at #33 in the rankings and South Alabama (82) and Texas State (100) round out the teams.
The Eagles are coming off of a stellar regular season with six tournament championships and three individual wins. Southern concluded the regular season with four straight victories in three tournaments and a match play win over Missouri.
Louise Reau and Regina Plascencia are the only Eagles to have competed in the conference championship while LoraLie Cowart, Drive Tunwannarux, Mary Miller, and Kelsey Chen make their debut.
The Eagles are paired with ULM and South Alabama and will tee off from the first hole beginning at 8 a.m.
