STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern softball team (14-11, 0-0 SBC) opens up Sun Belt conference play in a three-game series against Southern Miss (12-13, 0-0 SBC) beginning on Friday at Beautiful Eagle Field. 

Due to forecasted weather on Sunday game times for the weekend have adjusted. The updated schedule can be found below. 

Game One - Friday at 3 p.m. 
Game Two - Saturday at 11:30 a.m. 
Game Three - Saturday 40 minutes following game two

• Friday's game will be the second all-time meeting between the two teams

LAST TIME OUT

• Georgia Southern dropped a hard fought battle to #13 Georgia on Wednesday night (3/12) at Jack Turner Stadium. Maddie Johnson pitched a gem in the circle allowing just one run on one hit, a solo homer in the sixth. The freshman picked up seven strikeouts and did not walk a batter. The Eagles put a runner on in every inning but the first and left ten runners on base in the contest. Valerie Combs led the offense going 2-for-4.

• The Eagles hold a Sun Belt best fielding percentage (.977). 
• Valerie Combs tied for third in doubles with eight.
• Maddie Johnson sits fourth in ERA (1.81), second in innings pitched (77.1), fifth in strikeouts (60), and third in wins (8).
