
Webb Claims Second Sun Belt Player of the Week Award

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Georgia Southern men's basketball graduate guard Spudd Webb was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, becoming the first player this season to secure the honor in the league.
Webb also becomes the first Eagle to receive Player of the Week honors twice in a single season since Tookie Brown did so during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Hartwell, Georgia, native began a perfect 2-0 week for the Blue and White, setting a new program record for field goal percentage against Louisiana Tech. In that contest, Webb finished with a 13-of-14 (.929) evening from the field, securing the 79th all-time 30-plus point performance in program history, while becoming the 29th overall player to accomplish that goal.
Webb finished the game against Louisiana Tech with a season-high 32 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished four assists, registered a block, and tallied a steal. On Saturday, he continued his hot weekend, scoring 14 points against Gardner-Webb, adding a rebound, two assists, one block, and three steals.
For the week, Webb scored 46 points (23.0 ppg), grabbed nine rebounds (4.5 per game), dished six assists (3.0 per game), blocked two shots (1.0 per game), and swiped four steals (2.0 per game). He leads the Eagles in minutes per game (30.2), field goals made (61), free throws made (44), free throw percentage (.772), points (176), points per game (16.0), assists (31), and steals (20).
