Cowart’s Top-10 Finish Leads Women’s Golf at Boilermaker Classic

Eagles are back in action next week at Yeamans Hall
WEST LAFAYETTE, IND – The Georgia Southern women's golf team continued its 2024 campaign Monday and Tuesday at the Boilermaker Classic at Kampen Course. Senior LoraLie Cowart led the way for the Eagles firing a 76-72-70 (+2) to finish sixth in the tournament.
Cowart earned her second top-10 finish of the season after tying for third last week at the Tiger Classic. The senior shot 2-under par in the final round on Tuesday totaling four birdies and 12 pars and was bogey-free on the front nine. Cowart carded the second most birdies in the tournament with 12 and was top-10 in both par 4 and 5 scoring.
Sophomore Louise Reau finished inside the top-40 shooting 76-78-77 (231). Reau carded her best in Monday's first round recording a 4-over par with two birdies.
Rounding out the lineup Regina Plascencia tied for 57th, Mary Miller finished tied for 76, and Kelsey Chen placed 87th.
Purdue took home the team title while the Eagles finished 10th.
Georgia Southern finished third in par 4 scoring.
