Reau and Cowart Pace Women’s Golf at Cougar Classic

Georgia Southern is back in action Sept. 20-22 at Vanderbilt
CHARLESTON, SC – Louise Reau combined to shoot 1-under par in the final two rounds to finish inside the top-30 as the Georgia Southern women's golf team competed in a competitive 17-team field at the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall, hosted by College of Charleston.
The 17-team field featured some of the top teams in the country including NBC Preseason ranked No. 6 Auburn, No. 17 LSU, No. 24 Ole Miss, No. 32 SMU, and No. 33 Tennessee.
LoraLie Cowart and Avery Robinson led the way in the first round with a 3-over 74 before Reau shot a 1-under 70 in the second round and an even par in the third round. Cowart tallied nine birdies while Reau added eight on the tournament.
After bogeying her first two holes in the final round, Cowart fired off three birdies and eight pars to climb up the leaderboard putting herself in the top-40 on the final day of play.
As a team Georgia Southern shot its best in the second round combining for a 1-over par round. Regina Plascencia's shot an even par which included six birdies and a T57 finish while Robinson shot her tournament best 1-over.
