NEW ORLEANS - Brycen Jones was named the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, Reece Coleman was named Newcomer of the Year and both players along with Parker Claxton earned All-Sun Belt accolades in a vote by the league's 14 head coaches, the conference announced today.

Jones earned first-team all-conference honors in addition to his Freshman of the Year award. He becomes just the second Eagle to win the award from the Sun Belt, joining Steven Fisk who won the award in 2016. Jones' season scoring average was 72.27, coming in 33 rounds and his top finish was a win at the Colleton River Invitational. The Thomasville, Georgia, native had a low round of 65 and he finished with a team-high 116 birdies. He also had 244 pars and four eagles.

Coleman earned second-team all-conference honors in addition to his Newcomer of the Year award. He becomes the first Eagle win be recognized with this award by the Sun Belt. The port Elizabeth, South Africa, native joined the program this year after a standout career at Anderson University. His season scoring average was a team-low 72.06, coming in 33 rounds and his best finish was a T5 at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate. His low round was a 66 and he was second on the team with 116 birdies. He als had 360 pars and two eagles.

Claxton, a sophomore from Claxton, Georgia, earned third-team all-conference honors. He made the second team as a freshman, making him the eighth Eagle in program history to be a multiple-team All-Sun Belt selection. His season scoring average was 72.82, coming in 33 rounds and his best finish of the season was a T4 at The Stitch. His low round of the year was a 67, coming three times and he tallied 91 birdies, 376 pars and four eagles. Claxton had a hole in one at the Schenkel Invitational and one in the final round of the Sun Belt Championship, where he finished T7th.
