Horne Leads the Way on Day 2 of NCAA Corvallis Regional

Eagles looking to advance to Nationals
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Thomas Horne and Parker Claxton combined to shoot -5 in the second round to put the Georgia Southern men's golf team in a solid position at the NCAA Championship Corvallis Regional Turesday at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
The Eagles (-6) are in a tie for sixth place with Liberty, two strokes behind fifth place. Seventeenth-ranked Oklahoma leads the way with a -28, followed by #43 Purdue (-20), host Oregon State (-13), #30 UCLA (-9) and #6 Arkansas (-8). The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
Horne led the way with a 68, carding three birdies and an eagle while Claxton shot a 69 with four birdies and an eagle. Harrison Sewell shot an even-par 71 while Trace Carter shot a 72 (+1) and Morgan Blythe posted a 73 (+2).
The field features eight teams ranked nationally in the top 50 and 27 individuals ranked in the top 150.
