Eagles boast strong two-day slate in anticipation of Sun Belt Championships
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– The Georgia Southern track and field team took part in the East Coast Relays over the weekend and saw several personal bests and top-ten program performances throughout the two-day slate.
"I'm pretty pleased with how the weekend went. We wanted to use this competition to prepare ourselves for the conference championship in two weeks," head coach David Neville said. "We saw some great progress by most of the athletes that competed. Over the next few weeks, we will clean up some things and get ready for the conference meet."
Sucar Tanelus had a phenomenal weekend in her events, setting personal bests in the 100-meter hurdles (14.29) and 400-meter hurdles (1:02.56). Both marks put her in the top ten in school history.
Other Eagles to crack the top ten in program history were Sofia Molina in the 800m (#3, 2:11.26), Imani Moore in the long jump (#2, 6.19m), Alexandria Kennedy in the triple jump (#6, 12.33m) and Alanna Smith in the 200m (#6, 23.95). Moore's mark was 48th-best in Division I in the long jump in 2024.
