STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern softball team travels to College of Charleston for its final midweek matchup of the season. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. from Patriots Point Athletics Complex and will be streamed on FloSports.com.

The Eagles picked up a win on Friday night against the Troy Trojans before dropping its final two games of the Sun Belt Conference series last weekend. In game one, the Eagle offense exploded for ten hits as
Emma Davis went 3-for-4 and
Katie Perkins went 2-for-4 along with five different Eagles recording hits in the contest.
Anslie Pettit picked up her 10
th win in the circle pitching her 10
th complete game of the season after tossing seven complete innings allowing two runs on six hits and adding four strikeouts. The Eagles dropped game two of the series 6-3 before falling in game three 8-7. In game three, the Eagles fell short of a comeback as it was down three runs going into the bottom of the seventh.
Janai Conklin launched a two-run home run to put the Eagles within one, but three quick outs ended the threat.
SERIES HISTORY WITH COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON

SCOUTING THE COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON COUGARS
College of Charleston comes into the midweek contest with a 9-32 overall record and is 3-18 in CAA conference play. The Cougars dropped its weekend series against North Carolina A&T two games to one. In game one, College of Charleston picked up a close 6-5 over the Aggies before dropping the final two games of the series. Game two went into extra innings as the Aggies won 9-8 in nine innings scoring two runs in the final frame. Brooke Marquez leads the offense posting a .305 batting average including six doubles, two home runs, and 12 runs batted in. McKenna Kelly leads the pitching staff with a 4.47 ERA in 103.1 innings pitched including 45 strikeouts. The Cougars were picked eighth in the CAA preseason poll after finishing sixth last season.
