Name: Alex Stevenson
Hometown: Newcastle, England
Home Course: Ramside Golf Club, England
Major: English Literature
Why did you choose Georgia Southern?
Practice Facilities here are amazing and I like the idea of moving from the city and experiencing more of the countryside.
What are your goals for the season?
To win conference championships as a team and to individually win a tournament/have a top 5 finish in a tournament.
What is your favorite memory at Georgia Southern?
The team winning our conference championship after only being here for a year.
What made you decide to play golf?
My dad got me into golf: told him I could play better than him.
Who is your favorite golfer?
Brooks
What is your favorite club in your bag?
My Putter
What is your favorite course played?
Edisto Island
What is your favorite of the four majors?
The Open Championship of course (because it's played in Britain)
Have you had any holes in one? If so, how many and which was your favorite?
I have had 6, my favorite probably has to be when I was back in England and I was playing a team game for my home club and I had one hole left to go to try and win my match and I ended up making a hole in one and won my match for the team to win.
Who are your top 3 favorite golfers?
Brooks Koepka, Lydia Ko, Jordan Spieth
What is your favorite aspect of the Bennett-Ramsey Golf Facility?
Our short game facilities but probably also our new locker room (makes it feel more like a home)
What is one thing people don't know about you?
There is nothing lol.
If you could play any other sport in college, what would it be?
Tennis
Who is the funniest teammate?
Regina
If you had to be trapped on a desert island with one celebrity, who would it be?
Ed Sheeran
