Louise Reau finished inside the top-10 as the Georgia Southern women's golf team finished eighth on Sunday at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. Against a championship-caliber field, the Eagles finished two strokes ahead of No. 1 Wake Forest and four strokes in front of 32nd-ranked Alabama.
Louise Reau got off to a hot start in the first round firing a 4-under par (68) including an eagle on hole nine and four birdies. Reau shot an even par in the second round and 1-over in the third to finish tied for eighth. In the final two rounds, she totaled six birdies finishing 2-under on the tournament.
Abby Newton fired a 70 in both the first and second round totaling eight birdies in the two rounds before shooting 2-over par in the final round to finish at 2-under par. Newton totaled eleven birdies in the tournament tying her season high.
Playing as an individual,
Haley Yerxa finished T44 firing a 71 in the first round and a 73 in the second. Yerxa totaled eight birdies in the tournament.
