Meet one of the newest Eagles, the transfer from TCU
The Georgia Southern volleyball team has added three new faces to the spring roster and for the upcoming season. The second of three installments in this series is on TCU transfer middle blocker Lydia Seymour, one of two transfers Chad Willis added to the squad.
Q: Why Georgia Southern?
A: I chose Georgia Southern because of the coaches, the teammates, the culture, it was just everything I was looking for in a program and it's perfect here.
Q: What is the worst volleyball workout?
A: Definitely stadiums. They really test your mental strength. You're going up and you see the top, and you feel like you're almost there, but your legs are about to give out, and then you have to walk back down.
Q: What's your favorite color?
A: My favorite color is green, probably dark green.
Q: What's your favorite food?
A: My favorite food is definitely sushi. I'm a sushi girl, cooked or not. I have always been a basic California roll girl, but I can also go for a Texas roll, which we have back home. It's so good.
Q: What's your go-to snack when you're on the road?
A: Probably the off-brand goldfish, like the whales. You guys know what I'm talking about, the ones you can get at Walmart.
Q: Favorite gameday hairstyle?
A: I've gotten into the slicked back this year, so hopefully we'll see more of those.
Q: Do you put your kneepads on your shins or knees?
A: I'm a middle [blocker], so you know my job is not to dive. I'm an aesthetic girl, and I'll put them on my shins.
Q: Favorite thing about the team so far?
A: The girls. Every single person on the team. I love them so much, everybody is so supportive.
Q: Something you wish Statesboro had?
A: Something I wish Statesboro had is definitely my family. I'm a homebody and I love my parents and my brother. I wish they were all here.
