STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern softball team is set to travel to Tampa, Fla. for the USF Tournament and will take on Central Michigan, USF, Louisville, Villanova and Florida Gulf Coast.
Georgia Southern will play its first game at 1 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 1 against Central Michigan before wrapping up play at noon on Sunday against Florida Gulf Coast.
The Eagles enter the tournament with a 10-3 record after going a perfect 6-0 last week against Mercer in a midweek matchup and in the GATA Challenge against Purdue Fort Wayne and Presbyterian. Jess Mazur led the offense last weekend posting a .727 batting average including eight hits, ten runs batted in, and two home runs.
