Eagles return next weekend for match play against Augusta

SARASOTA, Fla. – Regina Plascencia led the Georgia Southern women's golf team shooting 2-under par (71-71=142) for a fourth place finish as the team finished fourth at the Spartan Suncoast Invitational on Monday at the Palm Aire Country Club.

Plascencia used a stellar two round performance ending the first day tied for fourth and held steady in the second for a fourth place finish. The sophomore fired a 71 in the first round shooting an even par on the front nine with no bogeys and used three pars on the back nine. In the second round, Plascencia shot a 71 with five birdies in the round.

Louise Reau finished T11 in the tournament shooting 73-71 including three birdies in the second round. Karlee Vardas used a stellar second round shooting 3-under par including five birdies and was bogey free on the front nine, to finish the tournament T20.

Haley Yerxa finished T37 and Abbey Schimpf finished 79th.
