Barth, Barrett & Lovett Pick Up Sun Belt Volleyball Postseason Honors

Barth named to All-SBC First Team; Barrett and Lovett garner Second Team honors

STATESBORO– After finishing the season 20-5 and 10-4 in Sun Belt play, three Eagles have picked up SBC Volleyball postseason honors: Reagan Barth (All-SBC First Team), Kirsten Barrett (All-SBC Second Team) and Ashlyn Lovett (Second Team).

Barth earned First Team honors for the second consecutive season after leading the Eagles with 320 kills and hitting .248, third on the team. She finished second on the Eagles in digs (257) and digs per set (2.99). Barth was first in the conference in aces per set (29th in the NCAA) at 0.43, third in kills per set (96th NCAA) at 3.68, first in total aces (67th NCAA) at 39 and third in points per set (56th NCAA).

The Lenexa, Kan. native recorded 10 or more kills 19 times and had two 20-kill games, recording 12 double-doubles and 13 games with double-digit digs. On Nov. 8, she recorded one of the best errorless performances in school history, hitting .630 (17-0-27) against Georgia State.

In addition, Barth was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week in Week 6 after notching 38 kills and hitting a scorching .427 (38-6-75) in the two matches at Marshall - a whopping 6.33 kills per set. She was also named AVCA/GameChanger Division I Player of the Week, the first Sun Belt Player to do so since 2017 and first in Georgia Southern history.

Barrett was named to the Second Team after she dished a career-best 867 assists, averaging 9.85 assists per set on the team that led the conference in assists per set, passing at a .431 clip during conference play and .407 all season.

She also recorded 53 kills, 182 digs (2.07/s), 32 aces (0.32/s) and 17 total blocks, finishing third in the conference in aces per set, second in assists per set (50th NCAA) and fourth in total assists.

Barrett was named Sun Belt Setter of the Week three times this season, the first Eagle to earn that honor multiple times in a season since the team joined the conference. She recorded 30+ assists in 19 games and 40+ assists seven times, including a season-best 46 at Coastal Carolina on Nov. 2.

Lovett had a career year during her final season in the blue & white, averaging a league-best 5.17 digs per set, part of the team that led the conference in digs per set and finished 16th in the country. Her 455 digs this season are a career-best, and she placed eighth in all of the NCAA in digs per set and 66th in the NCAA in total digs

The senior recorded double-digit digs in every game this season, including a three-set program record 31 in a match against North Carolina A&T in September. Lovett had 20+ digs 17 times, 30+ twice, and was charged with just 20 errors all season.

Lovett was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week three times, adding to five during her career. This is her second time appearing on any postseason award, as she was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2021.

The Eagles have their sights set on the Sun Belt title beginning on Friday when they match up with South Alabama.
