Barth Named AVCA/Gamechanger Division I Player of the Week

Sophomore placed first in the SBC in kills per set, aces and points per set
STATESBORO- Volleyball outside hitter Reagan Barth was named AVCA/Gamechanger Division I Player of the Week in addition to her SBC honors, the committee announced Tuesday.
Barth was dominant for the Eagles in their 2-0 weekend, leading the team with 38 kills and hitting a scorching .427 (38-6-75) in the two matches.
She recorded 18 kills on Thursday and followed with her first 20-kill effort of the season on Friday, also recording 12 digs in each of the two games, becoming the first Eagle to have consecutive double-doubles this season.
Barth placed 1st in the conference in kills per set (6.33), 2nd in kills (38), 1st in aces (8, including a career-high six in game one), 1st in points per set (8.00), 1st in aces per set (1.33) and fourth in digs per set (5.17) as the Eagles stretched their win streak to 11 and set win streak to 25. Her 25.5 points were tied for a season-high by any Eagle.
Barth becomes the first Eagle to earn such honors in program history. She becomes the fifth Sun Belt student-athlete to win this award, and the first since Emily DeWalt from Texas State in 2018.
The Eagles take on Troy for two big Sun Belt matchups beginning on Thursday.
