STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team plays its penultimate non-conference game of the season as the Eagles head west to take on the UAB Blazers on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Action from Goldfarb Field kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.
Georgia Southern enters the match with a 1-3-4 record after battled second-ranked West Virginia to a draw on Friday night. The draw represents teh second draw against a ranked team in program history. On the Blazers side, UAB comes in with a 0-4-3 record after a 2-2 draw with Temple on Saturday night.
Georgia Southern is 2-3-2 all-time against the Blazers, with the last match between the two coming back in 2020. The Eagles are on a two-match win streak and have not lost to the Blazers since 2017, but are only 1-3-1 in Birmingham all-time.
In the initial NCAA RPI rankings released on Sunday, Sept. 24, Georgia Southern opened at No. 161, which is ninth in the Sun Belt, ahead of South Carolina who comes in at No. 170. UAB opens at No. 210, which is only one spot ahead of No. 211 Radford, the bottom ranked team in Division I's RPI ranking.
