Georgia Southern continues its west coast swing on Monday and Tuesday at the Molly Collegiate Invitational in Seaside, California. It is the Eagles first appearance in the event, and the field features twelve teams. The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday and 18 Tuesday.
The Eagles are coming off a third place finish at the Leadership and Golf Invitational. Three Eagles are coming off of a top-20 finish led by reigning Sun Belt Golfer of the Week Regina Plascencia. The sophomore shot 73-71-71=215 to finish 1-under par and tied for sixth. Louise Reau put together a strong second round 74-68-73=215 finishing 4-under to finish sixth. Haley Yerxa finished tied for 20th shooting 70-75-74 (219).
Abby Newton makes her 33rd career start, Yerxa makes her 13 start in the lineup, and Plascencia makes her second appearance this season. Freshmen Emma von Hoffmann and Reau make their third career start in the Eagle lineup.
GS is paired with Oregon and Maryland and will tee off on holes 9-12 in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m (PT) on Monday.
