CHARLOTTE - Georgia Southern men's tennis opened up its Fall season this weekend, competing in the Charlotte Invitational over three days.
The Eagles faced off against players from host Charlotte, Elon and UNC Asheville with singles and doubles action each day. Collectively, Georgia Southern went 12-9 in singles play and 2-7 in doubles action. Individually, Dimitris Paliouras and Pierre Mouesca both highlighted the weekend by going 3-0 in singles play.
"First off, thank you to Kyle Bailey, Brett Forman and Charlotte tennis for putting on a first class event," Georgia Southern head men's tennis coach Andrew Goodwin said. "We got pushed, we got exposed an we got to see ourselves come through in some tough situations. We will continue to get tougher as a team and begin to establish our identity in how we compete. Our next opportunity to get out on the courts can't come soon enough for me."
Georgia Southern will be next in action on September 30th through October 3, playing in the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, with the October 6-8 Mercer Gridiron Classic in Macon to follow.
