STATESBORO - South Alabama softball completed a three-game Sun Belt series sweep of host Georgia Southern with an 11-0 five-inning win on Sunday at Eagle Field.
The Jaguars move to 32-13 overall and 14-4 in the Sun Belt, while Georgia Southern falls to 17-26 overall and 6-12 in the league. The Eagles will play their next five games away from home, beginning with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday at North Florida.
South Alabama scored in every inning of the five-inning victory, collecting 11 hits. Meanwhile, the Jaguars' Olivia Lackie (17-6) held Georgia Southern hitless until the bottom of the fifth inning, when
Olivia Creamer broke up the no-hit bid with a one-out single.
Lackie gave up one hit and two walks in five innings to notch the win for the Jaguars in the circle.
Morgan Kendrick (8-4) took the loss for the Eagles, giving up five hits and seven runs in two innings of work, walking six and striking out three.
