STATESBORO - After falling in the doubles match, the Georgia Southern men's tennis team swept all six singles matches to take a 6-1 victory over Southern Miss in Sun Belt Conference play.

In doubles play, the Eagles (15-6) fell at the No. 3 position by a score of 6-2 and the No. 1 position by a score of 6-4, earning Southern Miss (7-13) a 1-0 lead on the match. The match at the No. 2 position was left unfinished, with Pol del Castillo Masich and Aaron James Williams leading 5-4.

In singles, Judson Blair tied the match at 1-1 with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 position. Dimitris Paliouras would follow that up with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 4 position to double the Georgia Southern lead at 2-1. Williams would win gis match in three sets with a 6-2, 6-7, 6-2 win to give GS a 3-1 lead before Pol del Castillo would clinch the match with a pair of 7-6 victories, winning the match for Georgia Southern. The two squads would continue playing, with Alexandros Roumpis winning at the No. 6 position, 6-4, 7-6, and Pierre Mouseca winning at the No. 3 position, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, to give the Eagles the 6-1 victory over Southern Miss.

UP NEXT
The Eagles look to end the regular season on a high note as Georgia Southern hosts Louisiana for Senior Day at the Wallis Tennis Center. The match will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, after the women's match against Old Dominion.
