Georgia Southern continues its stretch of four straight events in the state of Georgia as the Eagles travel to the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club this weekend. It's Georgia Southern's second-straight appearance in the event, and the field includes six top-25 programs, according to Golfstat, led by No. 2 Wake Forest. The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes Saturday and 18 Sunday.
The Eagles have won their last two events - the Ford Invitational Feb. 26 in Richmond Hill and the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational Feb. 19 in Eatonton. All six Eagles finished in the top-20 at the Ford Invitational with

At the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, Plascencia tied for sixth, Newton tied for 10th and Yerxa tied for 12th.
Newton makes her 27th start in the lineup for the Eagles, Vardas makes her ninth start in the lineup and Yerxa is in the lineup for the seventh straight event. Plascencia and Oberparleiter are in the lineup for the third time in their Georgia Southern careers.
Georgia Southern is paired with fellow Sun Belt member Coastal Carolina for the first two rounds and will tee off holes 15-18 in a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. Saturday.
Following the weekend, GS completes its tour of the Peach State with a trip to Athens and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic March 24-26.
