Ben Carr Named Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week

The senior earns the honor for the second time this season.
NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern's Ben Carr has been named the Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week in a vote by the league's head coaches, the conference announced today.
Carr earns the honor for the second time this season. The fifth-year senior won the Schenkel Invitational and tied for second at The Valspar Collegiate Invitational while averaging 68.5 strokes a round in the two competitions.
He shot 68-68-72=208 (-8) in the Schenkel for his fourth career collegiate victory and led the Eagles to the team title for the second straight year. Carr shot 66-69-68=203 (-10) to tie for second at The Valspar in a field that featured six teams ranked nationally in the top-10 and 27 individuals ranked in the top-100 by Golfstat. In addition to his four wins, Carr now has 14 top-five finishes and 27 top-10 finishes in his career.
The Eagles return to action at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta April 1-2. Carr is one of seven amateurs invited to play in The Masters at Augusta National next week.
