Women’s Golf Places 13th at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

The field featured nine teams in the top-50.

ATHENS, Ga. – Inclement weather wiped out the final round of the 51st playing of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic Sunday, and the Georgia Southern women's golf team finished 13th in the event.

Tenth-ranked Auburn won the two-round tournament, capturing the team title in a field that featured nine teams in the top-50 in the country, according to Golfstat, and three in the top-10.

Haley Yerxa shot 73-77 to lead the Eagles, and her 73 led Georgia Southern in the first round. Abby Newton led the Eagles with a 74 in the second round.
