HARRISONBURG, Va. - The 69th-ranked Georgia Southern men's tennis team defeated the James Madison Dukes 4-3 on Saturday afternoon in a road Sun Belt Conference match. The Eagles are now 2-0 in conference and 13-3 overall.

The Dukes clinched the doubles point by winning courts one and two. The Eagles salvaged a victory at the No. 3 position from Judson Blair and Pierre Mouseca, but a victory on the second court right after that clinched a 1-0 lead for JMU.

In singles, Aaron James Williams quickly tied up the match with a quick 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position. However, the Dukes would retake the lead with a victory at the No. 1 position, 6-1, 7-5. The Eagles would then win the next three points to clinch the match, starting with a three-set victory by Pierre Mouseca, winning his match at the No. 3 position 6(5)-7(7), 7(7)-6(2), 7-5. Dimitris Paliouras at the No. 4 position put the Eagles ahead for good with a 6-3, 6-2 victory to go up 3-2, and Blair would clinch the match for the Eagles and end the competition with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 5 position. Alexandros Roumpis and his opponent were tied 2-2 in the first set at the No. 6 position when the match was called.

The Eagles will take on No. 71 Old Dominion in a road SBC match tomorrow, Sunday, March 26, with first serve set for 10 a.m.
