The 18th-ranked Eagles return to action at The Valspar Collegiate Invitational with 36 holes scheduled for Monday and 18 set for Tuesday. Twelve of the 15 teams in the field are ranked in the top-50, according to Golfstat, and six are ranked in the top-10.
Georgia Southern has won its last two tournaments - the Colleton River Collegiate and the Schenkel Invitational - and finished second at the Gators Invitational, its first team event of the spring.
Ben Carr earned his fourth career collegiate victory last Sunday at the Schenkel, birdieing the final hole to shoot 8-under and take home medalist honors by a stroke.
Mason Williams tied for fifth,
Wilson Andress and
Parker Claxton tied for seventh and
Hogan Ingram tied for 16th as all five Eagles finished in the top-20 in Georgia Southern's home tournament.
Carr makes his 49th career start in the lineup, Williams makes his 40th start and Andress will make his 33rd appearance in the lineup. Ingram makes his 20th start, and
Parker Claxton is in the lineup for the fourth time in his collegiate career.
The Eagles are paired with No. 9 Pepperdine, No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 7 Florida State for the first two rounds and will tee off holes 5-8 in an 8 a.m. shotgun start Monday.
Following the event, Georgia Southern completes the regular season at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational April 1-2 at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The Sun Belt Championship is scheduled for April 23-27 at Annandale Golf Club in Jackson, Mississippi.
