Georgia Southern opens the spring portion of the season at the FAU Paradise Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
The Eagles posted three top-3 finishes in the fall and are coming off a team title at The Southern, which Georgia Southern hosted in October. The Eagles won by 10 strokes over Yale, and Western Kentucky finished third.
Abby Newton (+6) finished fourth, Haley Yerxa (+12) placed 11th, Alex Stevenson (+13) tied for 12th and Taylor Oberparleiter (+15), who played as an individual, tied for 17th. All four will be in the lineup this week along with Karlee Vardas, who started all four tournaments in the fall.
Newton makes her 24th start in the lineup for the Eagles, while Alex Stevenson makes her 12th career start. Karlee Vardas makes her sixth start in the lineup, and Yerxa is in the lineup for the fourth straight event. Taylor Oberparleiter is in the lineup for the first time in her Georgia Southern career.
Following the trip to Boca, the Eagles return to action at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer, Feb. 17-19 at Great Waters in Eatonton, Georgia.
