STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's tennis team used two big come-from-behind victories on courts No. 2 and No. 3 to claim a 4-3 victory over the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Monday, Feb. 20.

The doubles matches went in favor of the Bulldogs after SCSU swept all three doubles matches, taking a 1-0 lead into the singles portion of the afternoon.

In the singles matches, Judson Blair put the Eagles on the board with a pair of 6-2 victories at the No. 5 position. Pierre Mouesca quickly doubled the GS lead with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at the No. 4 position. SCSU would tie up the match with a victory at the No. 1 position, but Aaron James Williams would put the Eagles back in the lead with a three-set victory (5-7, 6-2, 6-3) at the No. 2 position. Dimitris Paliouras was locked in a back-and-forth battle at the No. 3 position, but pulled away in the third set (4-6, 7-6, 6-3) to have his teammates storm the No. 3 court and give Georgia Southern the 4-2 victory. The No. 6 position would finish shortly after to finalize the match at 4-3 for the Eagles.

UP NEXT
The Eagles will tour the Carolinas and take on Furman and Garnder-Webb on Feb. 25 and 26, respectively. First serve is set for both matches is set for 1 p.m. on their respective days.
