5 Questions With: Senior Janai Conklin

Georgia Southern softball has returned to Beautiful Eagle Field for the Spring 2023 campaign! All throughout the season, we'll be spotlighting our seniors with our 5 Questions segment. First up is catcher Janai Conklin!
Janai is a senior from Miami, Fla., who is the leading returning hitter on the Eagles' squad this year. She hit a team-best.304 with six doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 24 RBI and had a memorable game on March 19 last season as she hit two home runs and drove in six in the Eagles' 12-10 win over No. 23 Louisiana. Janai is majoring in criminal justice and criminology and twice has been named to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Commissioner's List.
1) What made you decide to come to Georgia Southern to play collegiately?
I came to Georgia Southern for an opportunity to start a new life after high school. I wanted to be adventurous and see new things and create new friendships. I'm happy I chose Georgia Southern as my second home as I was able to build a lot of friendships and collection a lot of memories. I would like to thank all my teammates, coaches and professors for all the memories I built here at Georgia Southern.
2) What's one thing that people don't know about you?
I can move my ears.
3) What's the one thing that your teammates do that drives you nuts?
When they burp and don't say excuse me. It's so disgusting!
4) What's your favorite home-cooked meal?
My sister's macaroni and cheese, steak and a double baked potato.
5) In a movie about your life, what actress would play you?
Tiffany Haddish.
