STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern swim and dive teams split up for a combined five days of action, with the swimmer taking on the Gamecock Invitational from Wed., Nov. 15 - Fri., Nov. 17, and the divers taking art in the Liberty '85 TYR Invitational from Friday, Nov. 17 - Sun., Nov. 19. The weekend's performances were highlighted by diver
Karlee Wells' three-meter dive score of 319.05, setting a new school record on Friday night.
SWIM
Georgia Southern finished in fifth place in a eight-team field with a final score of 255. Top performances by the Eagles included
Zuri Clavo's 11th place finish out of 26 in the Women's 1650 Yard Freestyle on Friday with a final time of 17:16.13, along with a ninth place relay team finish in the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay on Thursday night, with swimmers
Emma Scruggs,
Logan Belanger,
Madlen Wendland, and
Abby Wenham finishing with a time of 1:44.70. Wednesday's action saw a relay team finish in seventh place out of 21 in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, with
Chiara Alberti, Carsyn Crosman,
Emma Sutton, and
Abby Wenham finishing with a time of 1:33.22.
DIVE
Along with her record-setting performance on the three meter dive, Wells finished in third place in the one meter dive with a final score of 269.95. Freshmen
McKinlee Taulbee and
Abby Ounsworth finished in eighth and ninth place in the 1M dive, with scores of 227.60 and 222.15, respectively. In the three meter dive, Taulbee placed ninth with a final score of J244.35, along with
Anya Weber, who finished in tenth place with a final score of J241.85.
