STATESBORO - Georgia Southern swimming and diving head coach Allyson Sweeney has announced the hiring of Emily Hetzer to serve as the team's graduate assistant coach. She will be assisting in coaching duties for the swim and dive team, as well as training the student-athletes in endurance-based training. Hetzer will also assist in the coordination of all recruiting efforts & team development.

"Having known Emily since her freshman year with Auburn Swimming & Diving, tracking her athletic and personal growth over the course of her college career has been incredibly rewarding," said Sweeney on the hiring. "Her wealth of athletic experience & level of high performance - coupled with her passion for the sport - will make her a tremendous asset to the program this year. We're really looking forward to our collaboration."

Hetzer spent her previous five years at Auburn University where she competed all five years with the Tigers, qualifying for the NCAA Championship all five years at AU. She also qualified for Olympic trials and was a four-time All-American.
