STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team is set to host Florida Gulf Coast from the Atlantic Sun Conference on Friday, September 9, at Eagle Field at Erk Russell Park. Kickoff for the match is set for 7 PM.
Georgia Southern comes into the match with an 0-3-0 record after dropping its home opener to the now 13th-ranked Charlotte 49ers. FGCU carries a 1-0-1 record into the match after opening the season with a 0-0 tie against USF and taking a 1-0 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats.
Georgia Southern sits at 119 in the latest RPI rankings, while FGCU is currently at 170 in the latest rankings.
The two programs have only faced off twice in a home-and-home series in 2018-19. FGCU won both of those matches, winning 2-0 in 2018 and 5-1 in 2019. 
This is the first of four matches the Eagles will play against a team from Florida. After this match, the Eagles will face North Florida, Jacksonville, and Stetson all on the road.
