PREVIEW: Eagles Face In-State Foe Georgia State

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team will return home from the three-game road trip to face Sun Belt Conference foe Georgia State on Saturday, October 1 at Eagle Field. Kick-off is set for 7 PM.

The Eagles come in with a 1-8-0 record after a 1-0 loss to Mercer on the road, a match the Eagles defense pressured the Bears all game. Georgia State enters the match at 6-2-1 and on a two-match losing skid after falling fifth-ranked Kentucky and 23rd-ranked Lipscomb in their last two matches.

GS is 11-30-7 all-time against GAST, including holding a 5-11-5 record at home against the Panthers. Georgia Southern's last win in the series came in 2019 in Atlanta.

The two teams have faced two common opponents this season, with both beating UNF by a score of 1-0, and GAST tying with Mercer while GS fell to Mercer.

UP NEXT
The Eagles will play their next two matches on the road, first heading down to Florida for the final time this season to face Stetson on Tuesday, October 4, before heading north to Kentucky to face the Wildcats for the third time ever.
