Eagles Drop Road Contest to Jacksonville, 3-0

Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team fell on the road to the Jacksonville Dolphins, 3-0, on Tuesday night at Southern Oaks Stadium. The Eagles fall to 1-6-0 on the season before a conference match with South Carolina on Saturday.

The Dolphins (3-2-2) scored in the second minute of the game, but the Eagles (1-6-0) defense kept them in check for the remainder of the half. In the second half of the match, the Dolphins pushed two goals in, one at the 62' and one at the 83' to seal the 3-0 victory.

"For a lot of our young guys, this is the first time they have really faced adversity," said head coach John Murphy. "We need to find a way to be more cohesive and more difficult to break down, and then I think that's when the game will open up for us on the attacking end."

"We go on the road to South Carolina on Saturday, and we're motivated to get back into Sun Belt Conference play. We'll use the coming days to put all of our focus on our performance on the road."
