Quickly: Georgia Southern hosts Georgia State in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series from Eagle Field to wrap up the 2022 regular season ... The Eagles are 11-32 overall and 4-17 in the Sun Belt, while Georgia State is 18-29 overall and 8-13 in the Sun Belt ... Georgia Southern will either be the No. 9 or the No. 10 seed in the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, May 10, in Mobile. Currently, the Eagles are tied with Coastal Carolina for ninth with a 4-17 confer- ence record, and the Chanticleers play against Appalachian State this weekend ... Friday's game will be Senior Day. Georgia Southern will honor outfielder Mary Grace Howard, outfielder Shelby Barfield, infielder Ashlynn Gunter, first baseman Faith Shirley, catcher Allyssah Mullis and pitcher Rylee Waldrep in a pre-game ceremony. Three of the seniors have already received their bachelor's degrees - Gunter, Shirley and Waldrep - and the other three will be graduating this month. Collectively, the group has played in 665 games over the last five seasons, starting 534 of those contests. They've hit 49 home runs, driven in 191 runs and won 30 games in the circle ... The Panthers lead the overall series between the two teams, 49-24-1. Last season, the Eagles swept the regular season series from Georgia State in Atlanta, winning 9-4, 11-7 (8 inn.) and 5-4. But the two teams then met just four days later in the Sun Belt tournament in Troy, with Georgia State winning a 4-1 decision.
