STATESBORO – The 24
th-ranked Georgia Southern baseball team fell to the Kennesaw State Owls 5-3 on Tuesday night at J.I. Clements Stadium.
Kennesaw State (25-15) got on the board in a hurry, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Georgia Southern (27-13) responded in the bottom of the first inning when
Jesse Sherrill ran home from third on a wild pitch, cutting the deficit in half.
The Eagles would plate two more runs in the bottom of the third inning, first with a
Noah Ledford RBI-single, plating
Jason Swan and tying up the game. Shortly after that,
Noah Searcy would launch an RBI-single through the right side, sending
Christian Avant home and giving the Eagles the 3-2 lead.
Kennesaw State would score three more runs, one in the top of the fourth inning, one in the top of the fifth inning, and one in the top of the seventh inning, securing the 5-3 win at J.I. Clements Stadium.
