LAFAYETTE, La. - The Georgia Southern men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision at Louisiana on Friday night. The loss drops the Eagles to 1-2 in Sun Belt play and 7-7 overall.
 
The match began with the doubles matches, where Louisiana won the first two matches quickly, with Pol del Castillo and Jacob Mitchell falling 7-5 at the No. 3 position, and Alexandros Roumpis and Valentin Dun falling at the No. 1 position, 7-5. Tao Castillo and Alex Suk were tied 6-6 at the No. 2 position, but the match was ended before a final could be achieved.
 
In singles, Laurent Julia Calac in the No. 6 position was the first to finish, falling to Vasil Dimitrov of UL, 6-2, 6-1. Del Castillo finished in the No. 1 position, giving the Eagles their first point of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-3 win, cutting the Louisiana lead to 2-1. Roumpis at the No. 2 position fell in two sets, dropping the match 6-3, 7-5 to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 3-1 advantage. The Cajuns would clinch the match with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Dun at the No. 5 position, but the Eagles would fight for the final two points. Dimitris Paliouras would win his match in only two sets in the No. 4 position, a 6-4, 7-5 victory. Finally, Castillo in the No. 3 position pushed his match to three sets and would take the third set after fighting back from a deficit in his final set to win 6-2, 1-6, 7-5, to end the afternoon with a 4-3 Louisiana victory.
