PREVIEW: Eagles on the Road to Face the Blazers of UAB

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team will play in Birmingham against the UAB Blazers on Sunday, with first serve set for 2 p.m., before coming home and starting Sun Belt Conference next weekend.

SERIES: The Eagles hold a 5-3 advantage over the Blazers in the series. The two haven't matched up since 2016, where UAB defeated the Eagles 4-3 in Birmingham. The Blazers are currently on a three-match win streak against GS.

UAB OUTLOOK: UAB comes into the match at 6-8, and was on a three-match win streak before falling to Troy, 5-2. The Blazers have faced three Sun Belt opponents in South Alabama, Georgia State, and Troy, all of which the Eagles will see in the regular season. They have also played another common opponent in Southern Miss, who UAB defeated by a score of 4-1.

UP NEXT: The Eagles begin conference play on March 19-20, where they will play host to South Alabama and Troy, respectively. Both matches are set to begin at 1 p.m.
