Georgia Southern opens the spring campaign at the Lake Oconee Invitational Feb. 18-20 at Reynolds Lake. The teams will play 18 holes each day.
The Eagles completed the fall with three-straight runner-up team finishes. GS took second at the Edisto Island Invitational, the Buccaneer Classic and the Mercer Invitational. All six Eagles who played at Mercer finished in the top-30, led byÂ
Sarunchana Rattanasin, who tied for 10th.
Rattanasin was named the Sun Belt Golfer of the Week Nov.11 and finished in the top-12 in all four tournaments in the fall. She shot a school-record three-round total of  71-66-68=205 (-11) to finish second at the Buccaneer Classic. Keyed by a school-record tying 66 in the second round, Rattanasin's 205 topped the 209 shot by Ella Ofstedahl in the 2019 Idle Hour Collegiate by four strokes.Â
The Eagles' three-round total of 851 at the Buccaneer Classic also set a school record and beat the old mark by 20 strokes and GS shot a school record 278 in the second round, besting the old mark of 280 they set at the Edisto Island Invitational a week earlier.
Abby Newton makes her 13th start in the lineup for the Eagles.
Alexandra Stevenson,
Mia Kness and Rattanasin will be playing in their fifth tournaments for Georgia Southern, and
Madison Heideman will be in the lineup for the fourth time in her career.
Kaysie Harrelson makes her season debut as an individual.
The Eagles are paired with North Florida and tee off the first hole at 10:45 a.m. in Friday's first round.
