
Men’s Basketball Inks Four for 2023-24

The quartet joins the roster next season.
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern men's basketball coach Brian Burg announced today Eren Banks (Eatonton, Ga./Putnam County), Collin Kuhl (Holy Springs, N.C./Holly Springs), Avantae Parker (Columbia, S.C./Gray Collegiate Academy) and Luke Wilson (Augusta, Ga./Augusta Christian) have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Georgia Southern and compete for the Eagles, beginning in the 2023-24 season.
Eren Banks, 6-3, 170, G – Eatonton, Ga./Putnam County
Rated as one of the top guards in the class of 2023 in the state of Georgia • Averaged 22 points per game in the 2021-22 season and was named second-team all-state • Has scored 1,100 career points entering his senior season at Putnam County.
Burg on Banks:
"Eren is an electric scoring guard. He can play either guard position due to his size and ball skills. He's proven over time to be one of the elite scoring and playmaking guards in all of the state of Georgia. Eren is a South Georgia kid, and we are very excited about his future at Georgia Southern."
Collin Kuhl, 6-8, 195, F – Holy Springs, N.C./Holly Springs
Averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds as a junior last season at Holly Springs • Named the SWAC Conference Player of the Year, the District 5 Player of the Year in North Carolina and earned third-team all-state honors • Played with Team Loaded NC on the Adidas circuit in the July AAU period • Father, Jim Kuhl, played at Stetson and sister, Quinn, is being recruited nationally for gymnastics.

"Collin plays with an incredible motor and relentlessness on the floor. He is extremely athletic and very skilled for his size. Our fans are going to love the energy that Collin is going to bring to Hanner Fieldhouse. We are excited about Collin and his future at Georgia Southern."
Avantae Parker, 6-9, 210, F – Columbia, S.C./Gray Collegiate Academy
Averaged 12.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and a block a game in 2021-22 • Voted to South Carolina all-state team and named to 2A all-region team • Plays for Atlanta Celtics AAU program • Rated one of the top 2023 forwards in South Carolina.

"Avantae is a winner, first and foremost. He won a state championship last year at Gray Collegiate Academy and plays for a one of the best high school coaches in South Carolina, Dion Bethea. At 6-foot-9, he is incredibly skilled. His versatility is going to be a huge asset for our program on both ends of the floor. We are very excited about Avantae's potential at Georgia Southern."
Luke Wilson, 6-10, 285, C – Augusta, Ga./Augusta Christian
Rated one of the top centers in the class of 2023 • Led SCIASA in blocks and rebounds in 2021-2022 season and named to All-State Tournament Team after helping Augusta Christian win a state title • Named SCISA All-region as a sophomore and as a junior.

"Luke has legit strength and size. At 6-foot-10 and 285 pounds, he can be a force around the basket on both ends of the floor. He also won a state championship last year at Augusta Christian, and he knows how to win. We are excited to welcome Luke into our program."
