FOLEY, Ala. – Miëtte Veldman collected 12 kills and nine digs, and James Madison hit .317 for the match to earn a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-20) volleyball win over Georgia Southern in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Friday afternoon in the Foley Sports Complex.

Eagles of the Match
Paige Powers led the Eagles (16-12) with 12 kills and hit .312 in the contest. Emily Jarome and Chamblee Russell each finished with five kills, and Grace Underwood posted four kills and four blocks.

Trailing 2-0 in the match, Georgia Southern rallied from an 18-14 deficit in the third set as Ashlyn Lovett served an ace, Powers put down a kill and Jarome and Underwood combined for a pair of blocks. But with the score tied 20-20, James Madison (21-4) scored five in a row to finish the match.
