STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Jared Benko announced Tuesday the hiring of
Davis Hendrickson as the new Deputy AD for Development of the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation. In his current role, Hendrickson will oversee the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation - the chief fundraising arm of the department - and will have sport supervision of baseball and men's golf.

"Davis comes highly recommended from his peers and mentors in the industry, and he has demonstrated the ability to both fundraise and create revenue in his previous roles at Pittsburgh and Illinois. Davis' leadership and influence will be very impactful as we continue to build upon the fundraising momentum gained over the past few years."
Hendrickson comes to Statesboro from the University of Pittsburgh athletic department where he served as the Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts since August 2021. Previously, Hendrickson held the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Premium Sales and Development with Pitt starting in January 2018. He played a key role in raising support toward Pitt Athletics fundraising priorities in which the department achieved its highest fundraising production in school history last year. In addition to fundraising, Hendrickson improved the product, expanded the inventory, and increased the sales of premium seating for Pitt Athletics. Hendrickson played a leadership role the reconfiguration of the basketball arena, which was repositioned to provide an enhanced game day experience for season ticket holders and an improved viewing experience on television in conjunction with the launch of the ACC Network.

A Macomb, Illinois, native, Hendrickson is married to the former Katie Porada (Hendrickson), who was a standout student-athlete on the Fighting Illini women's track team. Katie also competed for the University of Oregon track team during her graduate work. The couple has one daughter, Jayne and one son, Hudson.
