STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Head Women's Soccer Coach Chris Adams has announced six new additions to the Sun Belt Conference champion Eagle soccer program during the early signing period. These six student-athletes will join the program for the Fall of 2023.
The new signees are: Addison Comer (5-3, F., Jackson, Miss.); Caitlin Conroy (5-8, D., Warrington, England); Millie Perry (5-5, F., Warrington, England); Meredith Pugh (5-5, MF, Gulf Breeze, Fla.); Gwenna Townsend (5-9, F., Bluffton, S.C.) and Quinn Wilson (5-5, GK, Beaufort, S.C.).
"I am extremely excited about this recruiting class for so many reasons," Coach Adams said. "I believe this group meets the needs of our program by strengthening our attack. We will have lots of attacking options while providing competition at every position. I am proud of what we have accomplished, but I feel that this recruiting class can take us to new heights! Team MVP and Best Offensive Player as a junior for Jackson Academy in Mississippi ... MVP of the MAIS Academy 2022 All-Star Game ... Has scored 39 career goals and registered 22 career assists ... Played club for Mississippi Rush United, which captured the 2021 State Championship and the 2022 DPL Championship.
Coach Adams: "Addison is a crafty attacking midfielder out of Mississippi who will be invaluable at breaking down opponents with her field vision. Addison is also a tremendous 1 vs 1 player and can beat you off the dribble or with her passing. We expect Addison to make a huge contribution to the attack.Â

Plays for the Liverpool Women's Football Club and also competed for Cheshire County ... Club teammate of fellow Georgia Southern signee Millie Perry ... Also plays netball and competes in track and field ... Plans to major in Sport & Exercise Science at Georgia Southern.
Coach Adams: "Caitlin is an attacking right back out of the Liverpool Academy who can provide quality service from the wide areas. Caitlin makes great decisions and rarely loses possession which will make her a very valuable addition to the squad. Caitlin is very passionate and has a great attitude towards the game and teammates."

Millie Perry

Plays for the Liverpool Women's Football Club ... Member of the Cheshire Cup winners in 2019 ... Club teammate of fellow Georgia Southern signee Caitlin Conroy.
Coach Adams: "Millie is a striker from Liverpool Academy who should provide another scoring threat for us! Millie has grown up in the Liverpool Academy and likes to press and win the ball back high up the field, which is also another great attribute. We expect Millie to have an immediate impact on our attack!"

Meredith Pugh
5-5 • Midfielder

Gulf Breeze HS / Pensacola Futbol Club
Two-time first-team All-Area midfielder at Gulf Breeze HS as named by the Pensacola News Journal ... Team Captain for her upcoming senior season ... Player of the Year as a junior for the Dolphins ... Also competed in flag football ... Played club for Pensacola Futbol Club and Coastal Rush ... Member of the Florida ODP State Team from 2019-22 and the ODP Southeast Interregional Team in 2021 and 2022.
Coach Adams: "Meredith is a left-footed midfielder out of Florida who covers lots of ground. Meredith has a very good left foot and has tremendous vision to seek out dangerous passes. She has a very positive attitude and is a very coachable player."

Gwenna Townsend

All-Region performer at Bluffton HS ... Also competes for the Tormenta FC Academy in Statesboro ... Plans to major in exercise science at Georgia Southern ... Member of the National Honor Society.
Coach Adams: "Gwenna is an ultra athletic forward out of South Carolina who has the ability to use her athleticism to get on the end of crosses. She has a rare combination of speed and strength that should improve our ability to score more goals."

Quinn Wilson

Beaufort, S.C.
Beaufort HS
First-team 4A All-State performer at Beaufort HS ... Also named Region Player of the Year and is a two-time All-Region performer for the Eagles ... Low Country Sports Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and also is a two-time All-Region basketball performer.
Coach Adams: "Quinn is a fearless goalkeeper out of South Carolina. Quinn works extremely hard and should increase the competition within our goalkeeper group. She is determined to come in ready and compete for playing time."
