PREVIEW: Eagles Host Dukes In Conference Clash

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team will host the James Madison Dukes in a Sun Belt Conference match on Friday, October 14 at Eagle Field. Action from the pitch starts at 7 PM.

The Eagles come into the match at 1-10-0 after falling on the road against SBC member Kentucky. James Madison comes in with a 4-6-2 record after tying on the road against American earlier in the week. Only a single point separates the two schools in the Sun Belt Conference standings.

GS and JMU have only met three times in school history, with both teams holding a win against each other as well as a draw, holding the series record at 1-1-1. The two programs meet for the first time since 2016, when Georgia Southern and JMU tied 1-1 in Statesboro.

Both teams have faced three common opponents thus far. Both schools fell to Georgia State and Kentucky, but GS fell to Old Dominion while JMU tied with ODU.

UP NEXT
The Eagles play the next two games on the road, starting with the rescheduled Stetson game on Tuesday, October 18, before heading north to Huntington, West Virginia, to take on the fourth-ranked Marshall Thundering Herd.
